With an influx of custom design jobs at M.C. Ginsberg Jewelers, we decided it was time to form a separate division dedicated to this task: The Metal Arts Custom Design Studio.
Often customers won’t even realize they are in the market for a custom piece. They will see two different rings and simply wish they could blend the two, or want to recycle old jewelry or items passed down from family to create something entirely new.
This is where we come in.
During a few in-person consultations, we can work out exactly what your design requests are, taking in any magazine article, picture, or internet listing you have for reference. Then, we begin the digital construction. We will have you view digital composites, via email or in person, and if all looks to your specifications send the design over to our milling team.
The mill is a complex machine that takes the design parameters along with a block of wax, and carves out your piece, giving you an exact representation of your finished art. You can even try it on to see how it fits. If everything passes inspection, we have the wax model cast in the metal of your choice, be it silver, yellow or white gold, palladium, or platinum. Finally we set the gems desired.
Your piece is then handed over to you. Voilà, you’ve just created your own piece of art.
